What is limited access delivery – pick up?

The limited access accessorial should be selected when you are picking up or delivering to a location with or without a loading dock and not open to the walk-in public during normal business hours. Additionally, the driver may require additional security clearance to be unloaded. Here is a list of some locations that would be considered a limited access site:

  • Commercial establishments not open to the general public during normal business hours.
  • Construction Sites
  • Fairs, Carnivals, Chautauqua’s
  • Military Bases / Installations
  • Mine Sites
  • Prisons
  • Schools
  • Churches
  • Mini Storage Facilities
  • Piers/Wharfs
  • Convention and Expo Centers
  • Airports
  • Non-Standard Equipment
  • Sites with extensive security processes
  • Lodging Facilities
  • Hospitals
  • Nursing Homes / Assisted Living Facilities
  • Casinos
  • Power, Nuclear, and Water Treatment Plants
  • Resorts- including Ski Resorts
  • Golf Courses
  • Country Clubs
  • Funeral Homes
  • Utility Sites
  • Ports
  • Amusement Parks
  • Marinas
  • Daycare and Preschool Facilities
  • State/National Parks
  • Cemeteries
  • Car Washes
  • Gas Stations
  • Animal Hospitals

Additional fees may apply and will be added to the rate quote when you select the accessorial. IF you book your shipment without selecting the accessorial and the fee does apply you will be additionally billed for the service or location.

International shipments to Military bases may incur additional fees over the standard limited access fee IF the base requires shipments to be transferred in bond to the base OR require a dedicated truck for delivery.
